Eliphalet Jewett               5-4-1776 Rowley – 4-9-1837 Boston

Eliphalet lived and worked as a housewright / carpenter in Salem and Rowley, documented in part from 1804 and 1805 deeds. He was on a jobsite in Boston when he fell from a roof and later died from his injuries.

parents:  Paul Jewett and Jane (Payson)

m: Sarah Richards 11-4-1804 and had 9 children between 1805 and 1826.

Edmund is listed as a housewright in Boston from 1807 deeds. The Boston Directory for 1807 and 1809 has Edmund as a housewright on Russell Street.

Ebenezer Jewett                              - d 1826 Hampton, CT

His extensive probate  inventory from 1826 listed many pages of household items, but also hand tools including a grooving plow, 2 jointers, 1 smoothing plain, 4 little plains, bellows, anvil and blacksmith hammers.

 

Deeds from MA and probate / will records from the NE area did not yield any other candidates. Eight individuals were recorded in the 1800 census; 3 in MA, 2 in ME, 2 in CT and 1 in NY.
