Samuel Johnson Jr., Andover, MA (1st tier candidate found in MA records)

  • Samuel Johnson Jr., Andover, 1767-1850, ship joiner and joiner in 1805, 1816 and 1827 deeds 

parents (from an 1805 deed) were John and Esther of Andover, MA. (The "Jr." reflected Samuel's relative age in town along with multiple other Samuels .... not as the son of a Samuel Sr.)

(Samuel Jr. was the only MA candidate whose identity could be established.)

 

Aside from Samuel Jr., the identities of Samuel 3rd and 4th have not been established. Andover records did include 2 Samuel Johnson's b in 1753 and 1762, but linkage to any of the deeds with a trade could be established.
