9.5" long beech combination plane.

Using the US 1800 census, PA individuals dominated in numbers with a few individuals found in NY, DE and MD. Therefore, only PA individuals were investigated ... using PA taxes and county deeds. One tradesman was found, Jacob Wolf of Frankford twp, Cumberland Co., PA in 1800, carpenter. He was on the Frankford 1802 tax list, but no trade was given. His family links were not uncovered. Jacob was in Frankford only for the 1800 census and he was 26 to 44 years old with five household members. Based on his age in the census, it's likely that the plane would have been made ca 1795 to 1780.

Jacob, James and Jonathan Wolf's were investigated using period records for these PA counties; Cumberland, Adams, Berks, Bedford, Northumberland, Mifflin, Franklin, Lancaster, Huntingdon, Philadelphia, York, Washington, Greene, Montgomery, Luzerne, Fayette, Dauphin.

(The presentation of visually based elements (scale imprints, scale drawings, etc.) is a challenge, especially when moving from the printed page to the realm of an electronic medium. For reference, the original GAWP 5, CAWP, BARS and SOJ publications had pages which were 8-1/2" in width.)
