Cesar Chelor Probate Information

Cesar Chelor

Cesar Chelor, toolmaker, died intestate in 1784. He was survived by three adult daughters; Beulah, Elizabeth and Judah. His son-in-law Pompey Edes was appointed administrator. Lemuel Brown, John Crage, Nathan Blake were appointed as estimators of his real estate and property.

Lemuel and John were neighbors of Cesar, residing to the north of Wampum Corner where Dinsmore Brook crosses the Post Road in Wrentham, MA. Cesar's property at Wampum corner was 4 1/2 rods of land and the southwest end of a dwelling house. Cesar also owned 10A of woodland given to him by Francis Nicholson in 1754. The woodland property remained undeveloped and was to the south of the Wampum property along the same Boston to Providence Post Road. (Property research conducted by P Lasswell and M Humphrey, 2024 and 2025.)

(The presentation of visually based elements (scale imprints, scale drawings, etc.) is a challenge, especially when moving from the printed page to the realm of an electronic medium. For reference, the original GAWP 5, CAWP, BARS and SOJ publications had pages which were 8-1/2" in width.)
