"In the GAWP5, he is listed as UR, but I found a newspaper article from a 1957 Wilkes-Barre Times paper that states a Mrs. Charles Frantz arranging a loan exhibit that included the tools used by DJ Whiteman, who was a house builder. (below)

So his tools were still together by 1957 and they were split up.

Daniel did have awards from agricultural meetings in Luzerne County for 6 dining chairs and a window sash.

His obituary:

In Lehman Centre Jan 22, DANIEL J WHITEMAN, died of apparent erysipelas at the residence of his son, R A WHITEMAN. He was the son of JOHN WHITEMAN and was born at Fishing Creek, 11/12/1797. He was of German stock, the family having come to Luzerne County from Berks, though originally from Germany.

The family settled in Lehman when he was a lad about a dozen years old. He was a carpenter by trade, but when about 30 years of age engaged in farming on an extensive scale. He was twice married, first to REBECCA DEREEMER, to whom one son was born, MILO J WHITEMAN, who lives in Iowa. His second wife, ELLEN DEREEMER, a cousin of the first, died last summer. By this union there were four children, all of whom survive - R A WHITEMAN, county treasurer, ANNIE B WHITEMAN, MARGARET A., wife of GEORGE J MAJOR, and S J WHITEMAN, of the firm Whiteman and Peterson."
